My name is Dave Thompson, and I’ve been an avid angler since I was just a small boy. In my 40+ years of fishing, I’ve become quite skilled and have caught nearly every species of game fish in Northern California.

Several days each year, I like to get away from the valley and travel to one of the many mountain reservoirs to pursue the numerous trout species available. I’ve come to learn the most common and most effective bait used for the planted Rainbow is PowerBait. I can safely assume PowerBait is the most popular trout bait on the market.

I’ve used a lot of PowerBait in my years and realized removing this stuff from the jars is a task requiring the skills of MacGyver. You can use a stick, your fingers, or a knife, but these methods are either primitive, messy, or hazardous to children.

I always wondered why nobody sold a small scoop to get the stuff out of the jars and roll it into a small ball like an ice cream scoop. I’ve searched far and wide, doing many hours of research to find such a tool to no avail. It’s such an obvious idea yet unavailable to the trout fishing market. If I had found one, I would have bought it. I thought that if I would buy such a tool, so would many others: there must be a market for it.

So, I made the commitment to develop this product to my exact specifications and have the item manufactured exclusively for this purpose.
